We had a great experience at Masseria! We did the Chef’s Counter 8 course meal. I think these reviews really depend on where you’re coming from. I am absolutely not equipped to compare multiple Michelin-level restaurants. But if you’re a potential guest or traveler who would consider an experience like this as an extremely rare indulgence, IMO it was amazing. Highly recommend for a special dinner. For expectation purposes I will concur that the upcharges are no joke. I don’t really do seafood and my substitutes nearly doubled the menu price, but the Wagyu beef was next level. The cocktails and wine are what bring the total to its startling conclusion but again, if you don’t do this often it’s kind of a when in Rome experience, so we went for it and it was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and I loved all of the design details. It’s clearly going for an elegant but low-key casual feel, which is an interesting juxtaposition but I thought it all came together. The interiors are so cozy and the patio would be perfect in nice weather. We loved it and will remember this meal and experience for years!!

Masseria really raised the bar for me on Italian food. The food and wine pairing was A from start to finish. Service was attentive and helpful. The restaurant itself is beautiful with an industrial vibe warm wood accents. They played Jay Z’s entire Black Album during our dinner, which we enjoyed. IMO, one of the best tasting menus in the DMV & I look forward to the next time I’m back!

Great food, great service! We did the 8-course meal and it was definitely worth it. Ario was amazing in the kitchen; he was being trained and being able to see the restaurant cooking dynamic was insightful (we did the kitchen experience). We will definitely be back.

I have to start this story first by saying I am a very picky eater. I only went here for my wife who loves food. We went to celebrate our first year of marriage. This was our first experience at a Michelin star restaurant and I would say we were very nervous and not sure what to expect. My wife was more nervous/excited where I was more nervous/anxious. I was thinking this would be an uppity snobbish place where they act nice but really are looking down on you. From the moment we walked in I continued to be blown away. I can say now I was completely wrong on my initial judgement. First the staff here is Amazing!!!!!! Daneera (our waitress) was so patient and nice with my wife and I. I was blown away that they had discussed us before serving us and planned our experience. I thought that only was true on TV "The Bear" reference lol. I really appreciate genuine people and not only was Daneera enough of a reason to make our night, but all the staff were exceptional. Now I thought that was the extent of it, however I know none of you know me, but if you can think of the picky person in your life I am telling that is me. Going to this restaurant has really made me rethink if I ever really experience foods. I ate things I have never and would not have ever eaten. I am not saying exotic foods, which they have, I am talking about normal ingredients that were elevated. I could tell that choosing and preparing the food was done with a lot of thought and intention. Now I am telling you the food is amazing here. The dessert was so amazing not only in taste but in texture. I really took a moment to think about how much time it must of taken the chef to come up with this amazing lemon ice cream with a light cream with a fruit base. You would think wow that has to be it nopee. I had a non alcoholic pairing with our courses and I was just wanting some ginger ale. I have to say on top of being blown away by the food, staff, location, and chefs, the Bartender paired the drinks perfectly. I never knew how aromas could elevate a drink and how the right drink can compliment food so perfectly. I can go on and on and on about this place and I guess I have. I hope this shows you how amazing this place was and how amazing this place is. If you want to treat yourself and have an amazing time please give this place a try. This really has made me realize why quality is so important.

Had an amazing experience dinning at Masseria. We did the 8 course chefs tasting at the chefs counter. First started off with drinks at the bar that were great. The staff was very attentive. The pacing of the dishes was perfect. Some of the dishes were so good I forgot to take a picture. My favorites were the pasta with anchovies and truffle and the other was the Foie gras with apple. Did the wine pairing and that was great too. They had an amazing hip hop and r&b playlist that was very cool too. Made for a perfect experience. Would definitely do it again.

Fantastic Chef's counter experience! Seeing all the chefs preparing the food added a whole new level to the whole experience. Service was impeccable, food was phenomenal, and the whole vibe at the chief's counter was perfect. My favorite dishes for this October menu - A5 Wagyu enhancement. - The gnocchi. - The Burrata. Everything else was delicious, but those stole the show for me!

This restaurant exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent! That flavors and textures of the dishes perfectly paired with the wines were exceptional!! The restaurant was very clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive. No regrets. Everything deserves a 5 star.

This is a long overdue post. Years ago I ate here with my girlfriend for our 6 month anniversary, everything was great as I recall. We then came back last September. I remember thinking, "I hope everything was as good the first time" because maybe I had rose colored glasses with my girlfriend. Round 2 was just as great. Truly phenomenal food, environment and service.
